Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Electrical/Electronic Technician to support the Incoming Quality Inspection of electrical and electronic components. This role ensures that parts received from suppliers meet all required specifications, quality standards, and regulatory compliance before they are released for
use in production or inventory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Incoming Quality Inspection: Inspect incoming electrical and electronic components (e.g., sensors, motors, wiring, connectors, PCBs) for conformance to drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Visual & Functional Testing: Perform visual inspections and use electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, continuity testers) to verify functional performance.
  • Specification Verification: Check part dimensions, labels, certifications, and datasheets against purchase specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Non-Conformance Management: Identify and document non-conforming materials; create NCRs (Non Conformance Reports) and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams for resolution.
  • Documentation & Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and component traceability in the ERP or quality management system.
  • Calibration & Equipment Care: Ensure inspection tools and test equipment are properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements to inspection processes and participate in root cause analysis or corrective action efforts when needed.
  • Cross-functional Support: Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Quality teams to resolve technical or supplier-related issues.

Qualifications

  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Electrical Engineering Technology,
  • Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field. (Alternatively, candidates with a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in Electronics or Industrial Electrical Technology, with relevant experience, will also be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality inspection or testing of electrical/electroniccomponents.
  • Proficiency in using measurement and diagnostic tools such as multimeters, power supplies, and test jigs.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, datasheets, and technicalspecifications.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards or CSA/UL certification practices is an asset.
  • Experience working with ERP systems or quality inspection software.
  • Good communication and documentation skills in English (French is an asset).
  • High attention to detail, organizational ability, and a proactive mindset.
