In this role, you will manage export and import compliance and trade enablement for a global company that develops and exports AI and CPU hardware and IP products. This role requires working with complex trade regulations, technology, and business processes to develop and implement trade compliance and enablement programs.

This role is hybrid OR remote, based out of Austin, TX or Santa Clara, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and improve trade compliance programs to efficiently and effectively comply with U.S. export and sanctions laws and the laws of other applicable jurisdictions.

    • Determine ECCNs. Prepare and submit classification and ENC CCATS.
    • Review SAP and manual transactions for export and sanctions compliance.
    • Perform restricted party screening.
    • Perform prohibited end-use and end-user screening.
    • Perform red flag reviews.
    • Perform export license determination.
    • Manage SAP Legal Control and other SAP international trade applications.
    • Perform self-audits of export compliance.
    • Partner with stakeholders to monitor changes in business requirements.
    • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Manage and improve US-deemed export compliance programs. Apply for deemed export licenses.

  • Manage and improve technology export compliance programs.

  • Manage and improve import compliance programs to efficiently and effectively comply with U.S. customs laws and the laws of other applicable jurisdictions.

    • Determine HTS codes.
    • Determine FTA eligibility.
    • Partner with supply chain staff to resolve and prevent import issues and disruptions.
  • Analyze new and existing regulations to determine the best action to address various export and import compliance requirements. Partner with various stakeholders to develop and implement programs that efficiently and effectively comply with various legal and operational requirements.

  • Write trade compliance procedures and work instructions.

  • Develop and deliver trade compliance training.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in trade compliance, including working with U.S. to China export controls in the semiconductor industry (or a similarly highly regulated industry).

  • Demonstrated experience in implementing efficient and compliant trade compliance programs.

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with engineering, supply chain, sales, HR, IT, and other stakeholders to develop and implement trade compliance programs.

  • Skilled in SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, or other trade automation systems.

  • Creative problem-solving and demonstrated skills in process improvement. Ability to utilize existing processes and software to enhance trade compliance. Capable of recommending and developing new processes within budget and on time while meeting other business constraints.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skills.

Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
