founders and leadership team to help manage budgets, forecast, scale our operations and support capital raising.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in the chaos of high-growth startups; someone who can dive into the details, build from zero, and think strategically about where we’re headed.

What you will do
- Manage SurrealDB’s finance function from forecasting and reporting to fundraising and budgeting.
- Shape our growth, business model and long-term financial roadmap.
- Support fundraising strategy, investor relations and board communications.
- Create financial models, budgets and dashboards that help us make smart, data-driven decisions.
- Own company-wide financial planning, cash flow management and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance and oversight across accounting, tax and audit.
- Collaborate across product, GTM, and operations to align financial goals with business strategy.
About you
- At least 2 years experience as a finance lead or advisor at high-growth startups (ideally up to Series A+), and you’ve seen what scaling looks like.
- Strong relationships or prior experience working with top-tier VC firms.
- Deep understanding of SaaS metrics, revenue modeling, and forecasting.
- Someone who can think big but isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.
- Clear communicator with a knack for storytelling through numbers.
- Bonus: Experience in developer tools, databases, or open source ecosystems.

Working setup
We have a hybrid working approach at SurrealDB. We enjoy working and collaborating together and require London based people to be in our Oxford Street office three days a week on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
