A Little More About The role:
We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer on a temporary basis who has a passion for transforming enterprise systems and complex data into clear, actionable, and attractive user interfaces. You will be the team's specialist in Visual Design and Data Visualization. Your mission is to ensure that users can quickly understand, trust, and act upon complex operational, financial, and enrollment data, fulfilling the Outcome-Driven Meaning of our work.
This is a temporary role that will last 12 months with potential for extension based on performance and business needs. Pay based on experience - the range is $80 to $140/hour.
You will:
· Lead the end-to-end design and strategy for data-heavy features, including administrative dashboards, operational reports, and data visualization components (charts, graphs, tables).
· Translate complex financial and operational data requirements (e.g., HRA spending, enrollment statuses) into clear, concise visual representations that guide user action.
· Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to understand constraints and ensure the viability and accuracy of all reporting designs.
· Develop and maintain the reusable data visualization component library within the Figma design system.
· Determine success metrics (UX KPIs) such as time-to-insight and reduced support requests related to data clarity, and measure them post-launch.
· Create designs that meet accessibility standards, with a specific focus on color contrast and screen reader compatibility for data tables and charts.
· Consistently communicate and review designs with internal stakeholders at scheduled intervals to ensure reporting accuracy.
You bring:
· 5+ years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing data visualization, analytics dashboards, and complex reporting tools.
· Expert knowledge of information design principles for large-scale data presentation, and the ability to choose the correct chart type for a given dataset and user goal.
· Proven ability to determine UX KPIs for data comprehension (e.g., reduced time to task completion, error reduction) and measure/confirm them post-launch.
· Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, with experience contributing to or owning a UI design system that includes data components.
· Experience in a domain where data interpretation is critical (e.g., Fintech, B2B SaaS, or Healthcare reporting).
Extra credit:
· Experience working with data science teams or designing interactive data filtering/query builders.
· Familiarity with visual design principles for data-dense interfaces.
· Healthcare or financial services experience.
