About This Role:
We are seeking a Content Marketing Specialist to bring our cybersecurity expertise and thought leadership to life across our various organic channels (e.g., blog, video, social media, etc.). The Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for assisting with developing thought leadership content, elevating our AEO/SEO strategy, planning content efforts for supporting key integrated campaigns, and reporting. As Content Marketing Specialist, you are required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional and satisfactory manner:
Position Responsibilities
- Perform research on the latest cybersecurity trends and what competitors are saying to propose new content ideas for content planning and calendar-building
- Create and manage a team editorial calendar for content planning and production, and perform regular audits for content gap analysis
- Support our AEO/SEO strategy by working hand-in-hand with our Digital/Web team and SEO agency to create content that increases search visibility on native search engines as well as LLMs
- Understand how to use AI within the scope of marketing to create automated workflows, optimize content for SEO by ensuring proper use of metadata, schemas, and other technical elements
- Conduct interviews with our internal stakeholders and author long-form content based on the insights
- Proofread and edit all written content, including deliverables from our freelancers, to ensure that they adhere with our brand voice, style, and tone
- Collaborate with our Social Media contractor to amplify cybersecurity thought leadership and rich media content on social media
- Collaborate with our SEO team and proactively implement best practices to maximize visibility in search results (including following SEO writing best practices, and internal linking)
- Assist with strategic SEO writing/updates by refreshing older content to reflect current messaging
- Analyze content performance data quarterly and make data-driven decisions that will inform the greater content strategy & optimization efforts
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in technology or security-related fields preferred, but not required
- 3-5 years of experience creating and measuring high-quality long-form content
- Strong ability to prioritize work in a demanding, fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects at a time
- Working knowledge of tools such as JIRA, SemRush, and various AI models
- Ability to balance storytelling with the science of SEO and data
- Demonstrated skills in writing and editing long-form content (e.g., blogs, white papers, reports, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of content optimization and distribution trends / methods
If the successful candidate lives within 50 km of our office in Waterloo, Ontario this will be a hybrid position (Monday and Friday – work from home, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – work onsite). If the successful candidate lives more than 50 km from our office in Waterloo this will be a remote position.
