About the Role

We are seeking an Associate Counsel to own high-impact work across commercial, product, governance, privacy, employment, and financing, playing a key role in guiding business strategy and building scalable legal foundations.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive commercial legal work, including drafting and negotiating customer, partner, and reseller agreements.
  • Shape and advance product-facing privacy and regulatory documentation, including Terms of Use and Privacy Policies.
  • Support financing rounds and strategic transactions, including investor documentation and diligence.
  • Oversee corporate governance matters, including board processes, resolutions, and entity-level compliance.
  • Guide IP strategy to ensure effective protection and use of company assets.
  • Oversee procurement and vendor contracting, ensuring alignment with risk and procurement standards.
  • Advise on employment matters, including policies, agreements, and employee relations.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and provide practical guidance.
  • Maintain and refine legal templates and knowledge resources.

Requirements

  • Law degree from a leading institution.
  • 7+ years of legal experience, with a strong combination of top-tier law firm training and hands-on in-house experience at a tech company (startup experience preferred).
  • Strong commercial background with demonstrated experience supporting complex transactions and cross-functional business initiatives.
  • Proven experience developing and scaling compliance programs, including privacy and product-facing regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience advising on IP strategy and the protection of intellectual property assets.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing legal strategies and operational plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Excellent project management skills, with proficiency in legal operations, efficiency tools, and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain legal infrastructure, including templates, playbooks, knowledge bases, and internal legal tools.
  • Team player, self-starter, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Native-level English proficiency, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
